JUNE 14 NOTE from Dave: The June 26th WOS Field Trip still has 8 openings. Any spots not spoken for by June 20th by WOS members will be offered to local birders I know on a first come, first served basis. So let’s get out there!

Meet up at the Refuge headquarters at 7:00 a.m.. Tour by auto with short walks. Tour will end back Refuge HQ in late afternoon.

We will be investigating interior coniferous forest and associated wetland and riparian habitats. The Refuge has a very active forest restoration plan and we will see examples of multi-species and multi-story forest structure and prescribed fire habitat enhancement. We’ll have opportunities to debate Cordillerian v. Pacific-slope Flycatchers and Pacific v. Winter Wrens, view numerous sapsuckers and woodpeckers (White-headed!) and much more.
