On Friday, the highly regarded Fulio’s Italian restaurant in Astoria will cater an informal pasta supper. Diners will enjoy three choices of sauce (including vegan), salad, ciabatta bread, dessert, lemonade, coffee and tea.

Saturday’s banquet dinner, also catered by Fulio’s, will feature salmon, chicken, a vegetarian main dish and a variety of side dishes. We will celebrate our first joint OBA/WOS meeting with special desserts: tiramisu, chocolate torte and berry cobbler.

Complimentary salty snacks and a no-host cash bar will be available 4:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. in time for the business meetings on Friday (WOS) and Saturday (OBA). Please plan for all other meals, drinks, and snacks. (NOTE: box lunches will not be offered this year.)

Friday’s Pasta Supper is $25 per person, and the Saturday Banquet Dinner is $40 per person, which includes gratuities.

We hope that you can join your fellow birders for a delightful meal and presentation! Unfortunately, it will NOT be possible to purchase banquet meal tickets during the Conference itself as the caterer will have already been given our final numbers and is unable to vary from this count. Meal tickets will be included in your packet.

  • Grilled chicken breast done with either marsala or piccata sauce OR chicken cacciatore with marinara sauce and assorted vegetables

  • Vegetarian main dish

  • Rosemary Roasted Potatoes and/or basmati rice pilaf
  • House salad or Caesar salad
  • Ciabatta bread
  • Special desserts: tiramisu, chocolate torte and berry cobbler

For those of you staying at the Holiday Inn Express or Best Western: Because these hotels advertise room and breakfast, and their restaurant is not open until 5:30-6:00 a.m. (depending on weekday vs. weekend), they will be offering us “Grab & Go” bags (muffin, water and a piece of fruit) to take with us each morning at 5:00 a.m., to be picked up at the Front Desk by showing your room key. They will also have coffee available at 5:00 a.m. at this same location.
